Admission

Eligibility
Sasin welcomes applications from graduates in all fields who have at least three years of work experience after receiving their first degree. Assessment of international degrees is based on the characteristics of the national system of education, the type of institution attended, and the level of studies completed.

Selection is based on the Admissions Committe's careful evaluation of the applicant's academic history, English Proficiency Test/TOEFL results, GRE test scores (M.Sc. applicants only), recommendations, work experience, interviews and commitment to complete the Sasin HRM program.

In the selection process, the Admissions Committee evaluates the applicant's academic ability, personal character, motivation, leadership ability, interpersonal skills, work experience and management potential by carefully appraising the following:

English Proficiency Test/TOEFL
Proficiency in reading, listening, and speaking English is necessary. Classes and group work require strong language skills. All non-native English speaking applicants are required to take the English Proficiency Test which is scheduled on Saturday, March 8, 2008 from 8.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. at Sasin.

Applicants may submit their score report on TOEFL iBT (Internet-based Testing) or TOEFL CBT (Computer-based Testing) and be exempted from the Sasin English Proficiency Test.

The ITP TOEFL test evaluates students' knowledge of English at the intermediate to advanced levels of English language study. The questions in each section are in multiple-choice format with four possible answers per question.

There are three sections in the test: Listening Comprehension, Structure and Written Expression, and Reading Comprehension.

The TOEFL is offered year round at a range of international locations, see www.toefl.org. In Bangkok, Thailand, the TOEFL is offered at the Institute of International Education (IIE), Maneeya Center, 6th Floor, 518/3 Ploenchit Road, Pathumwan, Bangkok10330, telephone 0.2652.0653 or email to iiethai@bkk.iie.org.

TOEFL charges a US$140 testing fee.

Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
All M.Sc. applicants must take the GRE General Test which measures skills that are acquired over a long period of time and thus are not related to any specific field of study. The skills measured are in three areas: verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing.  All three sections are delivered in a computer adaptive format.

GRE scores are valid for five years. Applicants must arrange to have their GRE results reported to the Sasin Admissions Office directly by Educational Testing Service (ETS). Sasin's school code is 9318. It is suggested that the GRE be taken early in the year. The GRE is administered throughout the year, locally, at IIE, and at locations throughout the world.

For more details, please visit www.gre.org

Note: The GRE test must be taken no later than January 31 to be eligible for invitation to an admission interview in March.

To register for the GRE, please contact Regional Registration Center (RRC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at: www.prometric.com.

The local test center in Bangkok is at:
PROMETRIC Testing Center, 6th Floor, Maneeya Center North, 518/3 Ploenchit Road, Bangkok 10330, Tel. +66 2652 0653 e-mail: iiethai@bkk.iie.org

GRE charges a US$140 testing fee.

Interviews
Interviews are required for admission to both the Graduate Diploma and the Master of Science programs.

Interviews, conducted by the Sasin Admissions Committee (made up of Sasin Faculty and Sasin HRM alumni), are normally scheduled in March. The interviews are used to provide additional insight into the applicant's ability and desire to complete the HRM program.

Interviews also provide an opportunity for applicants to discuss the HRM program and raise questions of concern to them. Interviews will be arranged and conducted only after the application and all supporting documents have been submitted to the Admissions Office.

The Sasin HRM Graduate Diploma is a seven month, part-time, program, and the Sasin HRM M.Sc. is an 18-month, part-time program. Taught in five-week modules, the module dates may be found under Key Dates.

The next programs (both M.Sc. and Graduate Diploma) start in April, 2008.
