Through courses, research, publications, and films, Kaleidoscope promotes the creation of future-fitness and integrated value, led by its directors, Prof. Dr. Wayne Visser and Indira Kartallozi. Kaleidoscope Futures also owns SSR International, a global institute for sustainability and social responsibility professionals, and Migrant Entrepreneurs International, which promotes and supports the positive social and economic role of migrants around the world.
- Founder & Director – Chrysalis Family Futures (Merged with Kaleidoscope Futures) – July 2012 – March 2017 The team consists of a network of diverse experts who share the same vision and objectives around protecting and empowering of the human and socio-economic rights of vulnerable and marginalized families. Chrysalis works in partnership with charities, NGOs, universities, private companies, and businesses, providing consultancy on capacity building and project development. It provides training, workshops, and seminars on a range of issues that affect the human and socio-economic rights of marginalized and complex needs families. And it offers group therapy and life skills training to families affected by multiple forms of deprivation.
- Welfare Rights and Housing Advisor – Haringey Migrant Support Centre – September 2012 – September 2015 In this role, I support HMSC drop in with the welfare rights and housing advice surgery, working with vulnerable migrant women and children, providing welfare rights and housing advice. The work involves assessing the destitution of women and children, especially those with unregulated immigration status and those who have no recourse to public funds. I advocate on the client’s behalf and carry out referrals under Section 17 of The Children Act 1989.
- Senior Advice Worker – CARIS Haringey – November 1999 – July 2012 My role at CARIS included provision of welfare rights, housing and immigration advice (Level 1 OISC) to homeless families and families living in temporary accommodation, and migrant and asylum-seeking families. I was responsible for the supervision of other team members, file revision and ensuring delivery of efficient advice and case-work as set by the standards of the Community Legal Services (Quality Mark) and Office of Immigration Service Commissioner (OISC Level 1). My other tasks included the organization’s strategic planning, development and fundraising projects. I also devised and delivered various workshops, training, and presentations to community organizations and statutory service bodies.
