As a visiting professor at Jinan University in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, Sasin School of Management’s full-time faculty member, Assistant Professor Yupin Patarapongsant, embraced China’s vibrant culture and academic excellence. Established in 1906, Jinan University is a prestigious university in China that has received AACSB and AMBA accreditation. Dr. Yupin has visited Jinan University since 2015, gaining profound insights into China’s evolving business landscape. She has witnessed the transformation of Guangzhou, Chinese consumers, and the business landscape before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Her MBA classes in China involved critical topics in marketing management, such as Chinese brand strategies, market research, and global marketing initiatives. The interactive classroom fosters a reciprocal learning experience, providing students and the professor with invaluable perspectives on international marketing. The classroom has a mixture of multiculturalism from five to fourteen countries each year. Dr. Yupin relished Guangdong’s dynamic energy and cuisine, which enriched her academic journey. “The streets adorned with Chinese e-vehicles symbolize the region’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the transportation sector,” she observed.
