On November 26, 2024, Bangkok hosted a remarkable seminar uniting thought leaders and innovators from Japan and Thailand to address societal challenges through business. Jointly organized by Sasin Japan Center and Yuasa Trading Thailand, Business for Good: Strategies to Solve Social Challenges in Thailand provided a platform for transformative ideas, fostering cross-border collaboration and sustainable growth. The seminar began with opening remarks by Mr. Makoto Yamaguchi, Managing Director of Yuasa Trading Thailand, who emphasized the importance of business-driven social impact. A keynote by Professor Dr. Takamasa Fujioka, Advisor to Sasin Japan Center and Associate Dean at Meiji Professional Graduate School, highlighted strategic approaches to aligning business initiatives with societal needs. Subsequent presentations offered actionable insights:
  • Mr. Shigeru Kiuchi, Representative of NEDO Bangkok Office, discussed advancements in energy and industrial technology.
  • Mr. Suradech Taweesaengsakulthai, Co-founder of KKTT, shared pioneering urban development initiatives.
  • Mr. Hiroki Fujisaki, Director of Yuasa Trading Thailand, provided integrative perspectives on fostering collaboration.
Approximately 100 participants, including business professionals and industry leaders, engaged in thought-provoking discussions, exploring innovative solutions to pressing societal issues. This milestone event demonstrated the immense potential of cross-border partnerships to drive social change, underscoring the role of business in shaping a sustainable future for Thailand and beyond.
