A team of Sasin Executive MBA and MBA 2017 students recently competed at the Stu Clark Investment Competition (where Sasin has won 3 times before – the most in the competition’s history) in Winnipeg, Canada. The team, VitaScope, comprising Silp Udomthaveedej (MBA 2017), Clara Sitthijaroenyot (MBA 2017), Unyawee Karnjanathanalers (EMBA 2017), Sathita Naveeratanawitaya (EMBA 2017), and V-Kawin Jelatianranat (EMBA 2017), traveled to Winnipeg in the middle of winter (when temperatures regularly went well below zero!) and made it to the semi-finals, losing out to the eventual winner from the University of Arkansas.
The team plans to commercialize a mobile-enabled rapid diagnostic kit to detect acute kidney injury, a problem that cannot be detected using traditional methods until the kidney has already been damaged nearly irreversibly. The technology is from Chulalongkorn University Hospital’s Systems Biology Lab.
Earlier, the team graduated from Sprint Accelerator’s Batch 1 (Thailand’s first Deep Tech Accelerator – the Sasin Sustainability and Entrepreneurship team led the curriculum design and delivery of the program. Key partners include SCG, TCELE, KX, HTC Asia, and Sasin) and won the exclusive demo session with SCG executives, with an offer to attend and have a display at Techsauce Summit in Singapore in June.
Congratulations Vitascope!
