Sasin alumni entrepreneurs find fame in the U.S.

Sasin MBA 2009 Alumni, Pornthida Wongphatharakul and Peetachai Dejkraisak, co-founders of Siam Organic Co., Ltd., the producer of Jasberry rice, recently represented Thailand at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2016 (GES) at Stanford University. Siam Organic won first place at the “Spark the Fire” pitching competition, taking home US$30,000 and an opportunity to be mentored by Silicon Valley’s finest to help the business scale globally.

GES is an annual event organized by the US government aimed to bring together top entrepreneurs from all over the world. From over 5,000 entrepreneurs worldwide, only 150 were selected. Participants included the founders of Facebook, Uber, Airbnb & Google, investors and also public organizations. This year, the President of the United States, Mr. Barack Obama, also attended the event.

Siam Organic has also recently partnered with KIVA, a large micro-financing company, to help finance organic farm inputs for small-scale farmers in the northeastern part of Thailand.
