Sasin Management Consulting (SMC) and International Finance Corporation (IFC), a unit of the World Bank, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at Sasin. The MOU is “to establish bases for collaboration and cooperation between Sasin and IFC, to provide joint advisory services to the Government of Thailand, and to develop, structure and competitively tender infrastructure projects for public-private partnership.”
John Leber, IFC’s Investment Officer for East Asia & Pacific, said the new partnership “made sense to build on a previous project that had already been done with Sasin.” He also said that “IFC is happy to partner with an organization with a proven track record with their clients”.
Dr. Chaipong Pongpanich, Ph.D., Director of Sasin Management Consulting, said, “This partnership with IFC will strengthen the value proposition for our clients.” He added, “SMC brings expertise in the local markets, while IFC brings the strength of their international contacts and experience. It will be good for the Thai government and good for Thai business.”
