On March 8, the British Chamber of Commerce Thailand hosted an event to celebrate International Women’s Day with the theme of #EmbraceEquity. Sasin’s Inclusion Ambassador Dr. Drew Mallory shared his insights on equity for women and the LGBTQ+ community at work. He emphasized that businesses prioritizing gender equity and diversity can reap significant benefits, including increased innovation, better financial performance, and a more engaged workforce. Dr. Mallory said that advocating for equity and inclusivity in the workplace is not only the ethical thing to do but also can positively impact a company’s financial performance. Research has shown that diverse teams that include women and members of the LGBTQ+ community are more innovative and perform better as they bring diverse perspectives and skills to the table, leading to better decision-making and problem-solving. By embracing equity and promoting diversity and inclusivity at workplaces, companies can create a more innovative, profitable, and inclusive workplace for all.
