SDX1: Japan Day2

Ohayo (おはよう) One of the SDX’s commitments is to bring our participants to meet up with top-notch speakers who are industry’s leader. Here we go! The 2nd day of SDX, we headed to Sony and Panasonic, world leading corporates based in Japan. Founded in February 1988, Sony Computer Science Laboratories (Sony CSL) researchers have been seeking for the way to use their technologies to make the world a better place. In this session, the SDX participants were thrilled and inspired by innovative ideas from Ms.Ikuko Matsusaka, a Sony researcher, such as Flow Machine -an AI assisted music composing system , CALC – using big data to tell cause-and-effect correlation. Synecoculture – using data and mixed farming to help farmers improve the productivity. Next, we headed to Panasonic Center Tokyo where the participants immersed themselves with the world’s latest technologies and discussed with Panasonic’s AI experts, Dr.Takenobu Aoshima and Dr.Koji Morikawa. Moreover, as Panasonic is a sponsor for upcoming Tokyo Olympic 2020, the participants experienced how Panasonic used their innovations to promote this biggest sporting event of humanity.
Key takeaways from Sony and Panasonic Though many people have worries that AI and digital transformation are enemy. However, the participants learned that those innovations can be used to shape us to have a better life.
