Some people think that “studying is boring” as they’ve probably experienced boring, one-way lectures in a traditional classroom environment. But for the Senior Executive Program (SEP-33), we’ve revolutionized the learning experience so that it’s not just a lecture-based format! And our participants were thrilled by this new approach to make “learning fun and relevant”.
On August 6-7, 2019, Yeo Teow Chong (TC) and Lina Koh from the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) conducted a “Building Capacity In Your Organization” session for the SEP-33 participants. Both of the instructors led the session in various engaging ways such as using games, interactive competitions, and role playing. The class turned out to be fun, engaging and very interactive!
As SEP-33 promised double certificates, the participants received their first certificate from CCL on August 7th. CCL has been ranked in the Top-10 globally in executive education by the Financial Times for 16 years. Congratulations to all of the participants on completely this portion of the program! Key insights from the class were:
- The first step in being a great leader is to learn about your own personality (e.g. using Workplace Big Five, FIRO-B) and your own strengths;
- People have many types of personality. In order to influence your team effectively, don’t be a one-trick pony. Learn to influence different people with different approaches.
- Great leaders need to think about many perspectives. Don’t focus all of your attention only on your job or your function. Look at the overall picture.
