Meet Leena Uabumrungjit, General Manager of Operations, Oils Ingredients at Thai Union Group PCL, and one of our Connect+ Executive MBA students currently based in Germany. Balancing a full-time career and a six-hour time difference from Thailand, she shares how the program’s flexibility, strong community, and global network have empowered her to keep learning and growing—both personally and professionally. In this interview, she reflects on her Connect+ Executive MBA experience, what she values most, and why it’s become a meaningful part of her leadership journey.
What’s it like learning online—what works well for you?
Learning online through the Connect+ Executive MBA has worked extremely well for me, especially as I’m currently based in Germany (six hours behind Thailand time). The flexibility to study at my own pace allows me to balance the program alongside a full-time job. The only live session is on Saturdays, which starts at 4 AM my time—early, yes, but manageable! And since the sessions are recorded, I can always catch up later if needed. The platform is user-friendly, and the content delivery is well-structured, making it easy to stay on track.
What do you like most about the program?
What I enjoy most is the combination of flexibility and community. The online platform gives me the freedom to learn when it suits me, while the in-person residentials—like the ones in Chiang Rai and Bali—offer incredible opportunities to meet classmates, engage with industry experts, and collaborate on group projects face-to-face. The cohort is truly diverse, with professionals from sectors like healthcare, tech, and the food industry, and from regions across Asia and Europe. This mix of backgrounds makes every discussion richer and more meaningful.
How has the networking experience been?
The networking has been one of the highlights of the program. Even though it’s primarily online, the design of the Connect+ Executive MBA makes it easy to connect with others through group work, discussion forums, and virtual events. The residentials take it a step further by helping build deeper relationships and a strong sense of camaraderie. I’ve been able to build connections with peers across different industries and countries—connections that feel both professional and personal.
How has the program supported your lifestyle or career?
This program has been a great complement to my lifestyle and has directly supported my career development. As my current role is increasingly focused on management, the Connect+ Executive MBA has helped me revisit core concepts and stay up to date with the latest thinking in leadership and strategy. It’s also provided valuable knowledge in key areas like finance, which is essential for anyone stepping into or growing within a leadership position. The flexibility means I don’t have to choose between work and education—I can do both effectively.
What would you say to someone considering Connect+ Executive MBA?
If you’re considering the Connect+ Executive MBA, I’d say it’s absolutely worth it—especially if you’re looking for a program that fits into a busy professional life without compromising on quality. It’s flexible, globally connected, and thoughtfully designed. You’ll gain not just academic knowledge, but also a supportive international network and real-world insights that are relevant to your career. It’s a truly enriching experience.
