The Sasin-MIT Action Learning Lab is a joint initiative of the MIT Sloan School of Management and Sasin School of Management. This practical hands-on project engages MBA students from both schools to work collaboratively on key management challenges facing companies.
Besides the opportunity to travel to Boston to see the state-of-the-art facilities at MIT and sit in one of their classrooms, Salit Chairoongruang (MBA 2021), who had an engineering background, expressed that visiting MIT was a dream come true. However, the most fulfilling aspect was participating in an industry he had never explored before.
“I didn’t have the opportunity to jump into the consulting industry, and I found this opportunity. I learned something new, and I had to work on a project that I’m not very familiar with,” said Salit Chairoongruang (MBA 2021).
Sasin students found the management of communication across different time zones to be the most challenging aspect of collaborating with MIT students.
“We work with the international team, so we got [to work on] that communication skill with the international team and also on time management because we have very different time zones,” said Jitrin Panichayathum (MBA 2021).
Nudruja Kiatipanya (MBA 2022) gained practical, hands-on experience as her team communicated with clients and was assessed based on solving the business case for their assigned companies.
“The skills that we gained was to look at what the client wanted and in a broader perspective to formulate a solution that will be satisfactory for the client,” echoed Preawwanit Lertkajornkitti (MBA 2022).
Supatat Rochanakeekajon and Nichakorn Nivasnanda (MBA 2021) expressed their gratitude for the mentorship provided by Associate Professor Chaipong Pongpanich, Ph.D., Chief Executive of Sasin Management Consulting. He assisted them in professionally compiling and structuring their work. His guidance involved refining and condensing the content, providing valuable advice on what to emphasize initially and what points to include as concluding remarks.
“We believe that we are redefining the standard of business education in the world,” said Associate Professor Chaipong Pongpanich.
