Sasin professor joins panel discussion

Sasin marketing professor, Dr. Ian Fenwick, recently participated in a panel discussion about digital marketing at the AMCHAM Thailand, British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT), Netherlands-Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Multi-Chamber Tourism Evening.

Joining Professor Fenwick on the panel of digital experts were: Ryan Fergusson, Travel Lead APAC, Google; Matteo Barletta, Founder, SEO Heroes Bangko; and David Barrett of Hype Global.

Discussion centered around the high growth potential for digital marketing in the hospitality sector within this region, noting that digital marketing by hotels was far out-paced by that for destinations.

The Panel agreed that first steps in any digital marketing should focus on friction-free, mobile-friendly, user interfaces. Any distraction, poor performance, or slow-loading of pages immediately loses user attention and disrupts the buying process.
