Sasin School of Management is expanding its Action Learning Lab network, giving future leaders more opportunities to gain international business experience and work in global teams. Sasin recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Zhejiang University School of Management (ZJUSOM), one of China’s top higher educational institutions and one of the oldest. The agreement included both schools collaborating in the Thailand-China Lab program to offer their students access to a global experience involving approaching an actual business problem in mixed teams of MBA/EMBA students from Sasin and ZJUSOM, thereby generating value for the sponsoring companies and strengthening the relationship among the programs of top business schools in Asia while establishing the basis for the future development of this program. The Action Learning Lab is a partnership between Sasin and another international school, where students collaborate on real-world client projects and consult on practical business challenges for partner companies. The Sasin-Zhejiang Thailand-China Lab offers MBA and EMBA students invaluable insights and fresh perspectives into Thai and Chinese cultures and business practices, enriching their learning experience. “This new Thailand-China Lab will foster enhanced cooperation between Thailand and China, providing invaluable opportunities for students to collaborate on real business challenges. By working with actual enterprises, students will broaden their perspectives and strengthen their cross-cultural proficiency,” said Professor Ian Fenwick, Director of Sasin. Associate Professor Gangfeng Zhang from Zhejiang University School of Management who leads the Thailand-China Lab expressed confidence in the program and emphasized the potential for enduring cooperation. “During the kick-off session, our students showed great enthusiasm for the project, as it exposed them not only to real business issues but also to issues across countries. It provides them an opportunity to learn by doing. All students showed a strong commitment to the project,” he noted. Associate Professor Chaipong Pongpanich, Chief Executive of Sasin Management Consulting and Sasin Faculty leading Sasin’s action learning projects, said “Students from Sasin and Zhejiang will work together to develop strategic recommendations addressing business challenges for our partner companies.
