Deputy Director Dr. Chaipong Pongpanich, Deputy Director of Sasin School of Management, was recently asked to share his views on the state of internationalization of Japanese young generations.
“Looking at Japanese Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Thailand, Japan has a large presence. Thailand already has a lot of infrastructure, especially in the manufacturing industry, and there are strong ties established between the two countries. Nowadays, millions of people from the two countries visit each other.” said Dr. Chaipong, who earned his master’s degree in Japan in the early 1990s, and taught at a business school in Tokyo as a visiting scholar.
He hopes that young generations will have a more international perspective, and that they can learn to get along with people from other countries by going out more and learning about the differences between countries.
Responding to generational shifts, he commented that Thailand’s cooperation with Japan should be accelerated based on people-to-people connections which is going to be more important than ever. He looks forward to meeting more Japanese through various activities held at Sasin.
