A Global Student Startup Competition Driving Business Transformation Toward Sustainability
Team MabLab from Harvard University Wins HM The King’s Award at Bangkok Business Challenge 2025 Powered by SCGC. Sasin School of Management, Thailand’s premier business school, announced the winners of the Bangkok Business Challenge 2025, the longest-running global student startup competition in Asia, on May 24. The prestigious Bangkok Business Challenge, powered by SCGC, was officially sponsored by SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited (SCGC), a leading business in polymers and integrated solutions for sustainability. The competition gave opportunities for teams around the world to present their pitch deck under the theme “Growing Impactful Ventures,” encouraging sustainable business growth through innovation that addresses economic, social, and environmental challenges. Team MabLab from Harvard University, USA, was named the Global Competition Winner, receiving HM The King’s Award and a cash prize of $18,000, and was also honored with HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Sustainability Award, receiving an additional cash prize of $5,000. Team Humimic Biosystems from the University of Arkansas, USA, the First Runner-up, won a cash prize of $3,000. Twenty finalist teams were selected from a total of 308 entries submitted by 82 universities worldwide. The competition was hosted at Sasin School of Management.
