Congratulations to Sasin MBA student team, MediQuip, the winner of the 12th annual Stu Clark Investment Competition, the most prestigious postgraduate business plan competition in Canada!
From 58 teams that applied to the competition, MediQuip was one of 16 (and the only one from outside of North America) to be invited to compete in the semifinals in Winnipeg on March 11-12, 2016. The win earned the team CAD$20,000.
During the morning semifinal session, MediQuip beat out teams in their track from Johns Hopkins University, Northwestern University, and the University of Arkansas to book their place in the finals. MediQuip then won over all-Canadian teams from the University of Manitoba, Waterloo University, and the University of Windsor. Other teams competing included MIT, the University of Oregon, and the University of Louisville.
Earlier, MediQuip team also came 3rd in the “logo competition” during which judges quizzed the team about their logo design. That win carried a CAD$250 cash prize.
This is the fifth time Sasin has entered the Stu Clark competition in Winnipeg and the third time Sasin has won, a record unequalled by any other schools. The first Sasin team to win here was Siam Organic in 2011 – the venture is still in operation to this day and has scaled up to expand into the US market earlier this year.
Congratulations to MediQuip team members, Papob Koykaewpring, Saichalee Chongkolratanaporn, Suryansh Pandey, and Varittha Siwawej, and to faculty advisor Nick Pisalyaput and the Sasin support team! Well done!
