Congratulations to Sasin’s MBA 2017 team! They were declared 1st Runner-up at the Asia Regional Finals of the Venture Capital Investment Competition hosted by the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore this weekend.
The team comprised Chiranan Viriyaphol, Saowalak Chuengcharoenchaisak, Chariya Paveenchana, Nitha Phaholyothin, and Pradthana Sri-intravanich, and was supported on site by Poonyavee Voralertpichan and Jarupat Chieochanwitkun. The team’s faculty advisor was Nick Pisalyaput, Co-founder and Director of Sasin’s Sustainability and Entrepreneurship Center (SEC).
The competition required the team to act as venture capitalists by considering real start-up pitches, conduct due diligence interviews with these start-up founders, and, subsequently make appropriate investment decisions that culminated in submitting an investment terms sheet that needed to be negotiated live in front of experienced venture capitalist judges.
The winner was a team from National University of Singapore. Other teams competing in the Asia Regional Finals today were from Chula Business School, Nanyang Technological University, Universiti Patra Malaysia, Asian Institute of Management, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and China Europe International Business School (CEIBS)
Well done to the Sasin team!
