INvolve’s prestigious Outstanding Role Model List for 2024 compiled by INvolve, a global network championing diversity and inclusion in business, celebrates leaders making a significant impact in their respective fields. “LGBTQ+ and advocate Role Models remain vital for driving tangible, long-term inclusion for LGBTQ+ individuals across the world,” says Suki Sandhu OBE, Founder & CEO of INvolve. “The individuals featured within the Outstanding Role Model Lists supported by YouTube are all trailblazers who are driving impactful initiatives and strategic change within their organizations and across wider society.” Since joining Sasin in 2019, Dr. Mallory has spearheaded groundbreaking initiatives to advance LGBTQ+ inclusion, both within the institution and across Thailand, driven by community partnerships. “Dr. Mallory’s recognition on the INvolve Outstanding Role Model List is a testament to his unwavering commitment to fostering inclusivity and equity in Thailand and across international communities. His transformative initiatives not only enhance business enterprises but also provide a model for organizations worldwide. We are immensely proud of his achievements and grateful for his dedication to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion,” said Dr. Ian Fenwick, Sasin’s Director. Dr. Mallory has implemented inclusive policies at Sasin, such as same-sex benefits, gender-neutral applications, and reporting mechanisms to ensure psychological safety, along with a range of disability and mental health accommodations that exceed the requirements of Thai law. Furthermore, Dr. Mallory conducted the world’s first academic study on trans leadership and developed the TransTalents leadership media series, which highlights the leadership development paths of Thai trans professionals. Additionally, Dr. Mallory actively advocates for diverse voices through public speaking, media engagement, and global collaborations, including his role as Director of Research at the Neurodiversity at Work Research Center (NWRC), a partnership between the local disability and neurodiversity social enterprise, Steps Community, and Sasin. He also serves as an advisor for various organizations promoting inclusivity, including the pioneering mental health hotline, Sati App, as well as various academic journals. Dr. Mallory’s recognition by INvolve underscores Sasin’s dedication to nurturing a culture of inclusion that extends beyond LGBTQ+ issues. Sasin’s IDEALS initiative promotes inclusive business and education practices, ensuring equal access to opportunities for all members of the Sasin community, and works to honor the school’s historical role as a leading influencer of Thai business practice. “I am honored to be recognized by INvolve and believe this award reflects the collective efforts of many individuals at Sasin and beyond who are working tirelessly to create a more inclusive world. I hope this recognition inspires others to champion inclusive practices and challenge the norms within their industries, as what’s considered ‘best’ is still being uncovered,” said Dr. Mallory. He emphasizes that while Thailand, like many non-Western countries, has adopted diversity and inclusion frameworks from abroad, these models may not always fit the local context. He believes it is crucial for everyone to reexamine, adapt, and when necessary, reinvent these concepts to ensure they are effective and relevant for their own community.   About Dr. Drew. B.
