Sasin achieved a Level 4 Transforming School in the 2025 edition of the Positive Impact Rating (PIR), the leading global student-based business school rating, announced on June 11 at the PRME Global Forum 2025. Sasin is among 86 leading business schools from 28 countries to participate in this year’s rating. Achieving Level 4 reflects Sasin’s success in fostering a culture of positive impact through its governance, systems, and meaningful results across multiple impact dimensions.
The Positive Impact Rating, one of the most comprehensive international initiatives for assessing how business schools deliver on their promises related to sustainability, ethical leadership, and societal impact, was based on 17,167 student assessments—a 12% increase from the previous year. It measures how students perceive their schools’ contributions to society, including efforts in sustainability, ethics, and social impact.
“This achievement affirms Sasin’s commitment to creating meaningful societal impact by fostering international, collaborative ecosystems and interdisciplinary partnerships and by addressing local challenges through community engagement,” said Professor Ian Fenwick, Sasin’s Director, adding “This is a proud moment for the Sasin community and a reaffirmation of our dedication to driving positive, sustainable change in Southeast Asia and beyond.”
The PIR report also mentioned Thailand as one of the pioneering countries implementing Experiential Learning Models, which emphasize fieldwork, NGO collaboration, and live case learning—an approach that fosters “impact-literate graduates who engage, not just observe.” Likewise, the report also revealed a strong message from students in Asia urging business schools to “move away from memorization-heavy education and toward practice-based, tech-enabled teaching”—a shift that closely aligns with Sasin’s hands-on, forward-thinking approach to business education.
This educational philosophy is integrated at Sasin through Action Learning Labs, startup competitions like the Bangkok Business Challenge, and practically oriented research and business cases. “Learning by engaging and tackling real business issues is at the heart of our mission,” said Professor Fenwick. By nurturing responsible leaders equipped with practical skills and ethical values, Sasin aims to shape the future of business education in Southeast Asia and beyond—ensuring that impact-driven leadership remains at the core of its mission for years to come.
