The American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM)’s new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee’s “Coming Out” event was held recently. It marked a significant step towards promoting diversity and inclusion in Thailand’s business community. Dr. Drew Mallory, Sasin’s Inclusion Ambassador, spoke at the event and provided valuable insights on how organizations can encourage diversity in leadership roles and create a more inclusive workplace. He shed light on the importance of inclusive leadership, the benefits of diverse perspectives in decision-making, and the impact of an inclusive work environment on employee satisfaction and productivity. In addition to discussing the importance of DEI, participants at the event addressed the issue of coming out at the workplace and the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ employees. By discussing the current state of DEI in Thailand, the event highlighted the need for creating a safe and supportive work environment for all employees, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation. Participants also had the opportunity to share their experiences and engage in meaningful dialogue on how to make their workplaces more inclusive.
