CU Engineering – Sasin jointly offer the Sasin Chula Engineering Dual MBA and Master of Engineering Program, with scholarships and job opportunities with Thailand’s biggest firms
The Faculty of Engineering and Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration jointly offers the Sasin Chula Engineering Dual MBA and Master of Engineering Program (SCE), the first of its kind in Thailand. The SCE Program is designed to meet the needs of both public and private sectors, requiring human capital with engineering prowess and management skills. There are scholarships available for this program, and graduates would have special opportunities to work with Thailand’s biggest firms.
Assistant Professor Dr. Chonawee Supatgiat, faculty member of the finance department at Sasin and co-founder of the SCE Program, said that this dual-degree program is especially designed to combine the master’s level business administration program from Sasin and industrial engineering program from Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Engineering into one program. Prospective students must have earned either a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or in Natural Science. The two-year SCE Program will provide students with fundamentals in business administration such as finance, accounting, management, marketing, economics, and human resources management, and at the same time learn the advanced industrial engineering principles which may be used to make critical business decisions based on mathematical principles. Graduates from the SCE Program will possess the engineering and management knowledge and be able to apply that knowledge to real business applications, which increasingly require engineering and mathematical knowledge in order to optimize operations.
Assistant Professor Dr. Chonawee Supatgiat further adds that graduates from this program will have a special edge over ordinary MBA graduates in that he/she will not only possess the management skills but also have the engineering knowledge and tools such as mathematical models, statistical analysis, and computer programing to solve business problems and optimize operations. SCE graduates will have a more comprehensive knowledge of the business, and will be able to solve operational problems more effectively. The SCE Program has been well received by perspective students.
