On November 24, 2021, Thailand Management Association (TMA) and Sasin School of Management co-organized the Thailand Corporate Excellence Awards and SMEs Excellence Awards 2021 to recognize the best management practices of Thailand’s leading organizations and SMEs. The awards were based on a survey of executives from Thailand’s top 1,000 companies and the review of committees of experts who assessed key corporate excellence attributes. Award recipients received the prestigious Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn trophy. The Prime Minister of Thailand, His Excellency Prayut Chan-o-cha, gave the opening speech and presented the awards to this year’s recipients.
Professor Ian Fenwick, Director of Sasin School of Management, also gave a keynote speech in which he highlighted the importance of transformation in today’s business world: “We now have a unique opportunity to rebuild, to recharge, and reimagine the way that we conduct ourselves. To transform our schools, our businesses, our industries, and our societies to embrace sustainability. And make no mistake, embracing sustainability may well have an immediate cost. Sustainable practices may well be financially more expensive. Sustainable practices may well be less convenient. But if we fail to pursue the sustainable, the consequences will be dire: beyond any financial cost and any inconvenience.”
