MBA student team Animosa from the University of Oregon’s Lundquist College of Business, was declared the winner of the 2016 mai Bangkok Business Challenge @ Sasin. Animosa was one of 16 semi-finalists from 11 countries that competed over 3 days for H.M. The King’s Award and over US$12,000 in cash prizes. Animosa is a new brand of innovative outdoor gear for women that offers an all-in-one solution for feminine hygiene. The Award was presented by H.M. The King’s representative, Air Chief Marshall Chalit Pookpasuk.
Sasin’s MBA student team, Hygia Sanitation, finished as the First Runner-up (winning the US$3,000 cash prize). The other finalists included teams from Cornell University, ESSEC Business School, Queensland University of Technology, and National Chiao Tung University.
In addition, Hygia Sanitation won the HRH Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Sustainability Award (with an US$8,000 cash prize), and the Kiatnakin Bank 99 Second Pitch competition (and $750 cash prize) on the opening night of the competition.
The team was also recognized as having the best written business plan and best presentation in their semifinals division (each recognition carrying a $250 cash prize).
The Iso -Truss Factory team from the American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates was awarded the Houston Technology Center Asia Innovation Award (US$8000).
