A recent paper, “Board Gender Diversity, Corporate Social Commitment and Sustainability,” written by Sasin’s Associate Professor Pattanaporn Chatjuthamard, Sasin’s Ph.D. Student Pochara Arayakarnkul, and Sasin’s Visiting Professor Sirimon Treepongkaruna, has been selected to feature in Wiley’s Research Headlines, June 2022. This research project is supported by the Second Century Fund (C2F), Chulalongkorn University. Congratulations! The paper analyzes board characteristics of publicly listed US firms and finds evidence that support the diversity theory. In particular, that board gender diversity (proportion of female directors) is positively associated with firms’ social commitment to human rights, product responsibility, and their community and workforce, evidencing female directors’ contribution to firms’ sustainability.
